PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas compressor miniaturized, reduced in weight, which also reduces vibration and noise caused by whirling of the tip of a rotating shaft. SOLUTION: A recessed part 71 having an open face almost in alignment with a cylindrical open end 54 is formed at a left wall of a front head 9, and a side block 2 on the lower pressure side is fittingly mounted into the recessed part 71. The end face of the cylindrical open end 54 and the axial position of the right end face of the cylinder 4 are aligned. The thickness portion of axial length of the side block 2 on the low pressure side, and the total length dimension of the gas compressor 70 is shortened thereby. In this case, the total length dimension can be shortened, while securing a space for arranging an intake port 51 and a mounting leg 61 in the front head 9. The gas compressor 70 is mounted thereby in the same way as a conventional gas compressor 50 without changing the disposed positions of a pulley 31 and mounting legs 61, 63, 65.
