A textile thread spooling assembly has a turntable with two protruding presented alternately to a winding station. The spindles and turntable have separate drive units linked by a common control system, which also applies the spindle to a pressure-roller. Prior to the presentation of the thread to the spindle and take-up rotation, the roller is placed in contact with the spindle which accelerates the roller. The spindle accelerates the pressure roller to a pre-determined peripheral speed at which the thread is presented and the contact is terminated between spindle and roller by movement of the turntable in the opposite direction or movement of the pressure roller. The pressure roller is accelerated after each spindle move to the winding station. The pressure roller peripheral speed is as fast as or faster than the thread winding speed.
