A process for preparation of boards or layers for building applications, bricks or similar building elements from a liquid containing building material mixture (BMM) preferably containing paper fibers and gypsum as binder, and impregnated insulating boards or building components, where grain particles are added to the BMM and the moist mixture is formed and cured is new. Independent claims are included for: (1) building elements in the form of a coating or insulating board or a brick where the building element contains grains, especially rice; (2) a coating or filler material for hollow spaces where the BMM contains bitumen, asphalt or a corresponding hydrocarbon mixture.
