Scraper for removing residue from inside of pipe, includes detection device for checking for any residue left behind by cutting tool

A detection device is used to detect by contact any residue (9) which has not been removed from the inside of the pipe (8), so that a glide shoe (3) carrying the scraper (1) can be diverted to remove this residue. The detection device is located to the rear of the cutting tool (5) with respect to the travelling direction (A) of the scraper. An Independent claim is also included for a method for removing residue from the inside of a pipe using this scraper.
