An aqueous polypropylene dispersion which comprises the following ingredients (a) to (c), characterized in that the main chain of the ingredient (a) satisfies the following requirements (1) and (2) and the dispersed particles of the dispersion have an average particle diameter of 0.5 µm or smaller. Propylene polymer and/or modified propylene polymer 100 parts by weight (b) Surfactant 1-100 parts by weight (c) Water 100-1,000 parts by weight (1) When the polymer is analyzed by <13>C-NMR spectrometry to examine peaks attributable to the carbon atoms of the methyl groups contained in propylene unit segments formed through head-to-tail linkages and the chemical shift of the top of the peak assignable to the pentads represented by mmmm is taken as 21.8 ppm, then the proportion of the area (S1) of the peak whose top is at 21.8 ppm to the total area (S) of the peaks appearing in the range of from 19.8 ppm to 22.1 ppm, (S1/S), is from 10% to 60% and the S1 satisfies the relationship 4+2S1/S2>5, wherein S2 is the area of the peak (mmmr) whose top is at 21.5 to 21.6 ppm. (2) The ratio of the content of propylene units (A) to that of the other olefin units (B) is from 100/0 to 90/10 by mole.
