<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling a printing apparatus which is capable of operating the apparatus by urging a user to supply printing paper prior to a suspension due to a lack of paper in the midst of printing, thereby enabling smooth operation of printing. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 10 is composed of its ROM 12 consisting of a program of executing printing, a program of calculating the number of printing sheets, a program of calculating a toner volume to be used, and a display program. The printer 10 is provided with a display section 15 which indicates if the remaining number of papers is less than that estimated or the remaining toner volume is less than that estimated in accordance with the programs, and exhibits the supplements of papers or toner volume to be indicated on the display section 15, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
