PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass fiber base material which shows good resin saturation properties and beautiful appearance, and makes the surface of a laminate smooth, and to provide a method for manufacturing the glass fiber base material. SOLUTION: The glass fiber base material 1 has a glass fiber paper 2 and a plurality of glass fiber bundles 3 which are arranged unidirectionally and bonded to the glass fiber paper 2 through a resin.
