PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner in which a cooling region is smoothly and continuously changed to a dehumidification region, electric consumption is restricted from rising, and economical operation is allowed. SOLUTION: A coolant circulation circuit is formed by sequentially connecting an outdoor heat exchanger 2, an outdoor expansion valve 3, and an indoor heat exchanger 4 to a compressor 1. The indoor heat exchanger 4 is formed in a divided manner as a first heat exchanger 5 and a second heat exchanger 6 and an indoor expansion valve 7 is provided between the first heat exchanger 5 and the second heat exchanger 6. Thus, a cooling operation for functioning the first heat exchanger 5 and the second heat exchanger 6 as evaporators and a dehumidification operation for functioning the first heat exchanger 5 as a reheater and the second heat exchanger 6 as an evaporator are enabled. At least evaporation pressure of the second heat exchanger 6 is lowered compared to the evaporation pressure at the time of cooling operation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
