PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current detector having a simple constitution, and having comparatively excellent accuracy and linearity. SOLUTION: This current detector is equipped with a detection resistance R40 interposed in series on a current supply route to a load, a resistance R41, a transistor Q41 whose emitter is connected to one end Ta of the detection resistance R40 through the resistance R41, a voltage source 41 interposed between its base and the other end Tb of the detection resistance R40, a voltage source 42, and a resistance R42 connected between its output and the collector of the transistor Q41. The voltage source 41 is controlled so as to supply a voltage compensating a voltage Vbe between the base and the emitter of the transistor Q41. Therefore, a detection output acquired by amplifying R42/R41 times a voltage showing a current detected by the detection resistance R40 can be acquired from the collector side of the transistor Q41.
