PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foaming agent for use in a foam shielding method, which forms stable foam and does not degrade the fluidity of sand and earth. SOLUTION: The foaming agent for use in foam shielding contains an alkyl ether sulfate salt containing a hydrocarbon radical having 8 to 18 carbon atoms and an alcohol having 8 to 18 carbon atoms at a specific weight ratio.
