<p>The invention concerns a connector comprising two identical coupled connection elements designed to connect two sections of optical cables having each at least an optical fiber. Each connection element (13) includes means for guiding and maintaining a terminal section of the optical fiber of the corresponding optical cable section and means four optical coupling of the section end of one free end of the fiber of one of the two optical cables with one free end of the terminal section of the fiber of the other cable. The retaining and guiding means comprise a support block (15) provided with at least one guide channel (51) for the terminal section of the fiber and an aligning component (17) arranged in a housing (21) of said support block. Said aligning component (17) is provided with at least a calibrated hole (22), co-operating with the guide channel (52) for housing the end of the optical fiber and means for centering and coupling (23, 24, 25, 26) the two aligning components of the two connecting elements.</p> |
