The testing device has a testing stage (16,17) which is calibrated in correspondence with the response parameters of the electronic protection (12) for the electrical power switch (2) and a monitoring stage (18) which detects and signals the response of the electronic protection to a display device (20). An Independent claim for a testing method for an electrical power switch with an electronic overcurrent release is also included.
