摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knocking control system of an internal combustion engine wherein a proper control for maintaining the output of an engine over a wide operating range is performed by increasing an operating area allowing a proper determination of knocking. SOLUTION: This system detects the intensity of vibration produced on the internal combustion engine with a knock sensor, and sets a knock determination level Vkd based on the distribution of the intensity. The occurrence of knocking is determined based on a comparison between the intensity of the detected vibration and the knock determination level Vkd and, according to the results of the determination, a required engine control is performed. An executed minimum rotational speed NEmin is set and, when the engine rotational speed is lower than the executed minimum rotational speed NEmin, the execution of the determination is prohibited. The knock determination level Vkd is compared with a limit determination level Vkdmin showing the limit value of a lower limit where the knock determination level Vkd is effective (S103) and, based on the results of the comparison, the executed minimum rotational speed NEmin is updated (S104, S105).
