<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator for an air belt device, and the air belt device for securing operational safety over a long time. <P>SOLUTION: This gas generator 1 is used for the air belt for inflating an air belt by introducing gas exhausted from the gas generator. The gas generator comprises a solid gas generating agent for generating at least either one of gas and heat by combustion, and a housing for housing the solid gas generating agent. In the gas generator for the air belt device, the housing has a gas exhaust port 2 for exhausting gas generated inside, and the gas exhaust port exhausts the gas in the radial direction of the housing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
