PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for treating radioactive contaminants which safely enables the volume reduction and disposal of the radioactive contaminants such as radioactive asphalt solidified wastes and the like. SOLUTION: The device includes a crushing means 12 for the crushing treatment of organic radioactive contaminants 11, a hydrothermal oxidation decomposition treatment device 14 which decomposes and treats organic substances in the presence of sodium carbonate or potassium carbonate under a subcritical condition of the crushed substances 13, a gas-liquid separation means 16 which separates treatment water 15 from the device 14 into a gas and a liquid, a filter 18 which purifies an exhaust gas 17 separated by the means 16 and a storing means 20 which stores exhaust water 19 separated by the means 16 so as to prevent radioactive substances from leaking.
