PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact electric actuator to be mounted on a rotary valve such as a ball valve and a butterfly valve which accurately detects an opening and closing position of the valve, accurately controls an angle of the valve, and also achieves miniaturization, reduction of the weight and the cost, and safety, by simplifying the structure. SOLUTION: In this electric actuator 1 wherein a valve element in a valve body is rotated and driven through a stem, a motor 4 is mounted and fixed on an upper surface of a positioning plate 3 arranged on a base body 2, a cam 6 is provided coaxially with an output shaft 10 of the motor 4 protruding downward through the positioning plate 3, and limit switches 5 operated by the cam 6 are suspended from a lower surface 3a of the positioning plate 3.
