PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical shaft type pump space-saving with excellent maintainability. SOLUTION: This vertical shaft type pump installed with its axial direction pointing in the vertical direction, comprises a stand 30 holding the vertical shaft type pump vertically while being able to hold it also horizontally. The vertical shaft type pump further comprises a casing body 36, a crushing impeller 8 rotated integrally with an impeller 7 on the suction passage side of the casing body 36, and a grated fixed blade 10 fixed to the back face of the crushing impeller 8 through a prescribed clearance.
