PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle safety seat with improved human engineering characteristics. SOLUTION: The vehicle safety seat for an infant/child comprises a base 48 to be attached to a seat of the vehicle, a carriage 46 for receiving an occupant, and an extension mechanism (consisting of an axis arm 49 and an axis plate 47) attached to the carriage 46 and the base 48 for moving the carriage 46 outward from the base 48 to a position where the occupant is taken on and moving the carriage 46 inward from the base 48 to the position where the occupant is taken on. The carriage 46 can also rotate around the vertical axis to a position convenient to take on the occupant. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
