<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus whereby printed results in different output formats can be readily obtained at a high speed from identical print data without requiring a memory device having a large capacity. <P>SOLUTION: When a page image according to print data input from an external device is produced, a page image is produced by analyzing the print data and at least one job of the print data 1104 is held and at least one page of the page image 1106 produced by analyzing the print data is held.
