<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device for detecting partial discharge even for existing gas insulating apparatuses, which can confirm that a position locating function is in a good state without reconstructing the gas insulating apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The device for detecting the partial discharge is provided with a plurality of metallic containers which are composed of a plurality of metallic tubes connected to each other through insulating spacers insulating and supporting conductors; a plurality of detectors which detect values of voltage between adjacent metallic tubes; a position locating device which locates a position where the partial discharge occurs on the basis of a propagation period from a detection timing, at which a value of voltage among those measured by the detectors that detect surge voltage signals propagating based on the partial discharge exceeds a prescribed reference value, up to the next timing at which the value of voltage on the propagating line measured by the detectors exceeds the prescribed reference value; a circuit breaking means which is arranged between the metallic containers; and a device for confirming the good state of the position location which reads an occurrence position of the partial discharge located when the circuit breaking means is operated, and confirms as to whether the occurrence position coincides with a setting position of the operated circuit breaking means or not. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
