PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder 2 which more enhances a user's convenience of a file being a tool for binding various documents or the like and is used for the file. SOLUTION: The binder 2 is equipped with a pair of press plates 21 and 22 and binding levers 23 protruded from the press plates 21 and 22 to be fitted mutually and can bind sheets in the gap between both press plates 21 and 22. A joining mechanism 3 prevents the separation of both press plates 21 and 22 and can extend and contract in the direction almost parallel to the protruded direction of the binding levers 23 within the range including the fitting position of the binding levers 23 and the pull-off position of them.
