PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy of vibration analysis of a spindle motor for a hard disk drive and enhance measurement efficiency. SOLUTION: A spindle motor is used as a vibrator required when conducting a vibration characteristic measurement. Specifically, U and V phases of a three- phase power source including U, V, and W phases are applied and the phases thereof are adjusted so as to generate an exciting force in a rotating direction or a radial direction, and the generated vibration is measured. Since no vibrator is needed, a vibration generated only by the motor can be measured and time and in manpower for the measurement can also be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
