PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a landing device for an elevator where a blocking body descending due to the fire does not descend to the lower zone of the landing entrance when people are near the door of the landing. SOLUTION: An obstacle detection device 16 is de-energized in the upper zone of the entrance of the landing 2 by the operation of a smoke sensor 15, and the operation of the obstacle detection device 16 due to rising smoke or the like is prevented. Therefore, the blocking body 10 of the blocking device 12 descends without any trouble, blocks at least the upper zone of the entrance of the landing 2 and prevents the high-temperature smoke that rises up and flows near the ceiling of the landing 2 from entering the elevator shaft 1. When the obstacle detection device 16 is operated by the people near the sliding door 4 of the landing 2 during descent of the blocking body 10 in the lower zone of the entrance of the landing 2, the descent of the blocking body 10 is stopped.
