<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for thermoplastic resin foam capable of obtaining a thick plate-shaped thermoplastic resin foam having good surface properties, a uniform thickness and non-undulated side parts. <P>SOLUTION: A thermoplastic resin containing a foaming agent is extruded from a die head hole with an arcuate orifice. The extruded foam is passed through an arcuate mold and subsequently passed through one or more sets of arcuate roll sets arranged in a foam extrusion direction while the upper and under surfaces of the foam are pressed. In this case, the foam passed through one or more arcuate roll sets is taken over in the foam extrusion direction at a uniform speed over the total width of the foam. By this constitution, the thick plate-shaped thermoplastic resin foam having good surface properties, a uniform thickness and non-undulated side parts can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
