<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing utensil extensible and contractible in its tip and having a perfectly novel constitution. <P>SOLUTION: The writing utensil having the extensible and contractible writing tip is equipped with a writing shaft of which the leading end part is a writing core being the writing tip and which has a front end opening part and houses the writing core, the slider provided to the rear end part of the writing core and sliding along the inner surface of the writing shaft, a link connected to the pivot of the slider at one end thereof, the internally arranged gear connected to the link pivotally at an off-center position and provided in the writing shaft and an externally arranged gear provided in the writing shaft and connected to the internally arranged gear in a meshed state. Accordingly, the connection of the link and the internally arranged gear at the off-center position convert the rotation of the internally arranged gear to the linear movement of the slider sliding along the writing shaft. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
