<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose an optical switching device capable of increasing the number of channels which can be housed in the optical switching device. <P>SOLUTION: This optical switching device includes a common waveguide. The waveguide is placed between a plurality of 1st light deflection elements and a plurality of 2nd light deflection elements which include prisms made of electro-optical materials, respectively. The side of the prism is formed so as to have a lens. When a light beam passes through the prism, the divergence of the light beam is corrected. When the plurality of light beams deflected through the common waveguide from the plurality of 1st light deflection elements up to the plurality of 2nd light deflection elements propagate, the beams can be prevented from diverging in width. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
