EXHAUST-EMISSION CONTROL DEVICE OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce energy consumption in a treatment for restoring from S-poisoning in a SOX-trap equipment in an exhaust-emission control device of an internal combustion engine provided with an exhaust throttle-valve for exhaust brake.

SOLUTION: The exhaust-emission control device comprises: a particulate filter 70 carrying an active oxygen-releasing agent capable of S-poisoning; a SOX-trap means 74 placed upstream of the filter; and a bypass means 71 for bypassing exhaust gas around the particulate filter in order to release SOX from the SOX-trap means. In this case, the throttle valve 76 for exhaust brake is placed between the SOX-trap means and an exhaust gas-branching part of the bypass means.
