PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mud evaluation method in which a physical property exerted on a tire tractional force of mud can be evaluated by being expressed in index. SOLUTION: The mud evaluation method is constituted by including a step S1 used to sample a mud sample M1 inside a sampling tube 2; a step S2 used to measure an initial height H1 of the mud sample M1 inside the sampling tube 2; a step S3 in which a load f is applied gradually to the surface of the mud sample M1 so as to push out the mud sample M1 from the lower end of the sampling tube 1 and which measures a change in a height h up to the surface of the mud sample M1 from the lower end of the sampling tube 2 with respect to the load f at this time so as to find a load-height change curve; a step S4 used to measure the height H2 of a pushed-out mud sample M2; and a computing step S5 used to find by expressing in index the physical property exerted on the tire tractional force of the mud M as a mud value T.
