PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strain measuring method wherein the number of signal lines connected with strain gauges is reduced, a measuring value is prevented from being affected by resistance of the signal lines, and strain can be measured. SOLUTION: The strain measuring method is provided with a current supply step and a strain calculation step. In the current supply step, the plurality of strain gauges are connected in series, and each one of the signal lines is connected with a bonding point of the mutual strain gauges. Two signal lines are connected respectively with both ends of a series circuit constituted of the plurality of strain gauges. One or more strain gauges are selected as a strain gauge for measurement from among the plurality of strain gauges, and a current is made to flow to the selected strain gauge via two signal lines out of the signal lines. In the strain calculation step, voltages generated on the respective strain gauges for measurement are extracted via at least two signal lines different from the above two signal lines in the current supply step, and strains generated on the strain gauges for measurement are obtained on the basis of the extracted voltages.
