PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushioning material made of corrugated board excellent in buffer property capable of stably holding an article. SOLUTION: A cushioning material is made of a side support material 1 and an end support material 2. The side support material 1 has a constitution that both side walls 4 are erected from an internal bottom plate 3. A chevron- shaped ridge 9 is formed in the middle of an external bottom plate 8. End walls 11, 12 are erected at both ends. The external bottom plates 8 are overlapped with the internal bottom plate 3 to protrude the chevron-shaped ridge 9. A cut groove 5 formed from the internal bottom plate 3 to both side walls 4 are mutually inserted to assemble the side support material 1 and the end support material 2. Since the middle part between the internal bottom plate 3 and external bottom plate 8 is supported by the ridge 9 having a V-shaped structure, the material is stably held and hence, an excellent buffer property can be obtained.
