Casting ladle sliding seals - with improved wear resistance and deformation modulus,made from sintered or cast magnesia

The bottom plate and/or sliding plate of a sliding seal for casting ladles, is made of a cast or sintered refractory magnesia of compsn. 90-97% MgO, 1-3% CaO, 0.5-1.5% SiO2, 0.5% Al2O3, 0.05% B2O3, 0.5-3% Fe2O3 whose lime acid ratio is N2. Pref. the upper grain size limit is =3 mm and 25-35% of 0.1mm fines are included.
