<p>Therapeutic pancreatin compsn. with proteolytic, amylolytic and lipolytic activity is prepd. in dry powder form by (1) adding to comminuted pork and/or beef pancreas with the thorough mixing an aq. medium contg. CaSO4 and/or Ca(OCOCH3)2 to provide =5.7% water and 0.02-1.4% Ca salt based on wt. of pancreas, (2) admixing comminuted pork duodenum in an amount of 10% based on wt. of pancreas, (3) maintaining the mixture at 38-40 degrees F for =7days. (4) washing with acetone, (5) heating the washed mixture to 120-180 degrees F to dehydrate and inactivate susceptible pathogenic bacteria.</p> |
