<p>Lithium alcoholates of polyvalent alcohols are prepd. by reaction of LiOH in satd. aq. soln. or an aq. dispersion with polyvalent alcohols followed by H2O removal to recover the solid prodts. The alcoholates are used as esterification catalysts for the prepn. of polyester resins. The process uses only the stoichmetric quantity of alcohol required, not an excess.</p> |
