An aircraft equipped with peripherally configured directional thrust capability has an onboard primary power source producing compressed air, and at least two thrust producing modules (11). Each thrust producing module (11) has a fuel source and receives compressed air from the primary power source. Each module is attached to a respective rotatable support structure (9, 10) for independently varying the thrust angle of the thrust producing module (11) with respect to the aircraft, all thrust producing modules (11) being connected to a common controller for coordinated control of the aircraft. |
