The invention relates to a safety barrier comprising a net which is made from circular meshes (30 to 44) which are interweaved together such that each mesh is interweaved with at least four other adjacent meshes. Each mesh consists of a cable comprising n twisted yarns. The cable forming each mesh comprises a single strand which is looped back on itself n times in a helical manner.
