<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display capable of satisfactory image display having wide visual field angle characteristics and free from display unevenness by preventing generation of a reverse twist. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display provided with an electrode substrate having a pixel electrode and a common electrode which are provided parallel to the surface of the substrate and a liquid crystal layer formed by sandwiching a liquid crystal substance between the electrode substrate and a color filter substrate, a value W represented by the following equation of a green pattern which constitutes the color filter substrate is specified to be in the range of 0.20 to 0.45 and the distance from the chromaticity coordinates of transmission light of the green pattern to the coordinates of green in the color reproduction region of NTSC is specified to be in the range of 0.045 to 0.195.
