PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection apparatus of a timing belt that can grasp the rotary transmission accuracy of the timing belt that is mounted to a specific rotary transmission system in advance. SOLUTION: The timing belt 120 to be inspected is driven at a constant angular velocity, and each amount of rotation of a drive pulley 119 and a following pulley 121 is read by encoders 110 and 124 and encoder counters 150 and 151. The read data are taken into a PC 152 for each sampling period, and the count number of pulses is multiplied by an angle equivalent to one pulse to obtain drive side and follower side angle displacement. The difference in the angle displacement is obtained, and the analysis result of the amount of variation at the follower side of the timing belt 120 with angle displacement at the drive side being taken out through a low-pass filter 154 as a reference is displayed on a display 153. It is determined whether the timing belt 120 is appropriate or not based on the analysis result of the amount of variation at the follower side of the timing belt 120 being displayed on the display 153.
