PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous determination to an apparatus failure in a trial operation. SOLUTION: This air conditioner is provided with an interior air blasting fan 3 and a heat exchanger in an interior unit, and is so structured that the interior air inhaled from an inlet port formed on the front face or the upper face of the interior unit is heat-exchanged to supply it to the interior from the outlet port formed in the lower part of the inlet port, and a horizontal louver for adjusting the vertical direction of the air flow by driving a louver motor 25 is installed on the outlet port. The air conditioner is equipped with: a control device 5 for operating and controlling a compressor 8 and the interior air blasting fan according to the temperature difference between room temperature and a set temperature; a trial operation means 35 for forcibly operating at least the compressor 8 and the interior air blasting fan; and a louver control means 36 for rotating the horizontal louver at a predetermined angle by the louver motor 25 in operating the operation means 35.
