PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidifier which is simply composed at a low cost, and supplies steam containing no bacteria, pollen nor house dust but minus ions. SOLUTION: This humidifier 1 is provided with: a water tank 2 for storing water W; charcoal bodies C immersed into the water W in the water tank 2; and a heater unit 11 having a built-in heater immersed into the water W in the water tank 2 for heating and evaporating the water W. The heater unit 11 has an isolation vessel for housing the heater to isolate it from the inside of the water tank 2. A water passing hole for entering the water W in the water tank 2 is formed in the isolation vessel. The heater comprises positive and negative electrodes connected to an A.C. power source.
