1333997 Sliding clasp fastener OPTI-HOLDING AG 6 Oct 1971 [14 Oct 1970 20 Jan 1971] 46410/71 Heading E2S In a sliding clasp fastener comprising rows of interlocking elements 1 made from thermoplastics strips bent into U shape about their longitudinal axes, the interlocking elements 1 of each strip are in the bend of the U and congruent holes 7, 8 are punched through the two arms of the U for sowing the strip to an outside 6, the lower arm of the strip having projections 11 around the holes 7 to prevent displacement across the article 6, and the upper part of the strip being extended to form a slider guide flange 5. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, the guide flange 5 is part of the upper arm extending beyond the lower. The circular holes 7, 8 are positioned alongside the elements 1 and are tapered at the top to centre the sowing needle. Grooves 9 accommodate the sowing thread. The interlocking elements 1 have upper and lower projections 4, seen better in the embodiment of Fig. 5, which prevent disengagement of the elements 1 by movement up or down. In the second embodiment, Figs. 5 and 7, the holes are square and are positioned alongside and connect with the spaces between the elements 1. The guide flange 5 is formed by interlocking Z shaped projections 14 and 15 (respectively) of the upper and lower arms of the strip. |
