<p>A unitized seal assembly (100) for use with roller or ball bearing assemblies is disclosed. The unitized seal (100) assembly includes, among other things, a radially outer ring (60) and a radially inner deflector ring (70). The outer ring (60) includes a first shield element (64) which defines a first sealing face (66). The radially inner deflector ring (70) includes a second shield element (74) which defines a second sealing face (78). The second sealing face (78) is dimensioned and configured so as to correspond to the first sealing face (66) such that when the first shield element (64) is positioned in a non-contacting proximity to the second shield element (74), a circuitous sealing labyrinth is formed between the first sealing face (66) and the second sealing face (78).</p> |
