<p>A process and apparatus for treating produced water from oil and gas installations. The process is an advanced oxidation process using a combination of ozone injection and ultraviolet (UV) treatment. The process is used to remove residue dissolved and free oil within produced water prior to disposal by converting the hydrocarbon to carbon dioxide and water. Various embodiments of apparatus (10) are described including a cooled ozone generator (22) for use in hazardous areas, ozone injectors (18) and parallel reaction vessels (46) to provide treatment in a continuous process on a single pass.</p> |
