<p>Cold or liquefied gas chills blow mouldings by passing the gas through the mould walls and/or through the moulding. Pref. liq. N2 is used directly or chills a secondary fluid which is then used. Pref. the effective coolant temp. is controlled by press. flow controlling system e.g. orifice, press. control valve, or modified diesel fuel injection system. Process is esp. for moulding thermoplastic bottles or containers, allowing cooling cycles to be reduced by about 20%. Single pass or direct liq. injection ensures clean coolant at reproducible temps. Recycled or secondary coolant systems allow selection of various operating temps.</p> |
