PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the eye point of an operator unchanged in the sitting posture during the driving or operating by tilting/reciprocating the seat part of a driving or operating seat in an automobile, airplane, ship or other vehicle or working machine requiring the lower leg operation, and to facilitate the rotation of the pelvis of the operator without generating the effect of tilting of the seat surface on the operation system of the lower legs (or by removing, eliminating or shutting the effect of tilting). SOLUTION: The seat X with the automatic tilting seat surface has the seat part to tilt/reciprocate. The seat also has a tilting/reciprocating mechanism for rotatably supporting the seat part 3, separate and independent from a backrest part 2, between the seat surface and a support frame member 1 under the seat part 3 to tilt forward and/or backward, mechanically driving and tilting the seat part 3, continuously changing the tilting angle, and automatically alternating the tilting direction within a prescribed angle rangeθto convert to the kinetic motion.
