A drum with a structured upper surface accommodates a free wheel lock, both rotating around the same axle (10) in a single direction only. When the wheelchair is moved across a plane area the drum is kept away from the tire by a spring supported (13) system of levers (14). When moving up an inclined surface the device is activated, facilitating an unrestricted forward motion but preventing the wheelchair from an unintentional reversion. |
