<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To markedly reduce a probability of damaging an image forming apparatus by providing a processing circuit for restricting a sum of input image color signals so as not to exceed an arbitrary level. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus forms a color image by superposing toners of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black colors. In the image forming apparatus, a coloring agent put amount restricting circuit 11 that restricts the image signal such that the sum of signal levels of colors does not exceed a predetermined value even when a user arbitrarily sets color profile data for color management is provided in front of a γLUT circuit 25 for correcting a specific output characteristic of the apparatus, thereby adjusting the amount of put toner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
