摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect properly an uneven rotation of a rotor (a photoconductor drum or the like) by providing prescribed line patterns on the peripheral part of a drum-shaped rotor (the photoconductor drum or the like), performing brightness conversion of the line patterns in a prescribed area, and observing the change of a rate of a brightness distribution at prescribed time intervals. <P>SOLUTION: This uneven rotation detection device is equipped with a means 4 for providing a plurality of line patterns 9, 10 at prescribed intervals on the peripheral end of the drum-shaped rotor 1, reading an image signal by using a solid imaging device 3 in a prescribed area on the peripheral end of the rotor including the plurality of line patterns, and generating a brightness signal from the image signal; a means 5 for detecting the uneven rotation base on the change of the rate of the brightness distribution in each brightness level relative to the brightness signal in the prescribed area; and a means 6 for determining the correction quantity corresponding to the detected uneven rotations.
