PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a tooth hammering sound to enhance a sound-proof effect. SOLUTION: A power assist part 10 of this motor-driven power steering gear 1 has a motor device 11 provided with a driving bevel gear 17 driven by output torque of a motor 12, and a rack device 21 provided with a driven bevel gear 23 meshed with the driving bevel gear 17. A flexible member 24 is arranged, in the rack device 21, between the driven bevel gear 23 and a bolt nut part 22a provided on a rack shaft 5 to constitute a backlash forming means. Cut-in grooves 27 are juxtaposed alternately from opposed outer circumferential faces respectively in the flexible member 24, and axial contraction is allowed thereby to make the driven bevel gear 23 movable. Backlash is minimized thereby in assembling to form backlash concurrently with rotation of the driven bevel gear 23 in an assembled bevel gear mechanism. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
