<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of device which enables the reduction of production cost. <P>SOLUTION: A pixel part 100 of a liquid crystal display device contains a thin film transistor T, a source line 26, a color filter 23 and a pixel electrode 24, etc. A polyimide film 20 which surrounds the outer periphery of the region to be occupied by each of a source/drain region 22, the color filter 23 and pixel electrode 24 and the source line 26 with the wall is formed on a glass substrate 10 after forming a gate electrode 13, a gate insulation film 16 and a channel region 18. Liquid material is applied to the region surrounded by the wall of the polyimide film 20, the film-forming is performed after heat treatment and the elements such as the color filter 23 and the pixel electrodes 24 are formed. The polyimide film 20 is given a light shielding property and is allowed to function as a black matrix which intercepts the light through the surrounding of the pixel region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
