PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure good mixing performance even when an aqueous halogen salt solution and an aqueous silver nitrate solution are spurted at a low velocity and to form fine silver halide emulsion grains having good monodispersity even when an aqueous halogen salt solution and an aqueous silver nitrate solution are increased in concentration. SOLUTION: An aqueous halogen salt solution Y is spurted from a first nozzle 34 into a mixing chamber 20 as a turbulent filmy flow A going straight, and in a position before a place where eddy viscosity C formed by spurting the straight flow A from the first nozzle 34 of a small diameter into the mixing chamber 20 of a large diameter becomes maximum or in a position before a place where the maximum flow velocity of the straight flow A decreases to≤1/10, an aqueous silver nitrate solution X is spurted from a second nozzle 36 as a turbulent flow B nearly orthogonal to the straight flow A and the flow B is carried by the flow A, whereby the two solutions are instantaneously mixed and reacted, and the resulting mixed reacted liquid Z is delivered form an outlet pipe 26.
